Antibodies development and characterization

Novotec successfully achieved several Research projects, in collaboration with academics, with small businesses and with international leading companies.

The know-how acquired in the production of poly and monoclonal antibodies field leads Novotec into developing, with its partners/clients, customized antibodies, specific of the extracellular matrix and of other proteins. Novotec displays its expertise from the immunization step to the antibody characterization.

Human skin _ Immunolabeling of type XVIII collagen domain

Numerous studies highlighted that collagen domains play a key role in the cellular behavior such as proliferation and migration of endothelial cells. Although very studied, the antitumor action of collagen domains has not been fully described yet. In this framework of research (Emergence research contract, 2006), Novotec collaborates with Research teams to develop and produce antibodies specific to these domains, which are subject to publication. During their characterization, the localization of these circulating domains and of the whole molecule (macromolecule) was compared in healthy tissues and pathological tissues.

These « customized » antibodies are the property of our partners. Nevertheless, with their agreement, antibodies can be added to the range commercialized by Novotec.
